Before we begin

Prima di procedere con l’installazione verificare che:

• il PC sia collegato alla rete dell’Istituto;
• you have administrator permissions on your PC;
• the operating system is Windows 11;
• l'Account ID sia stato comunicato dall’amministratore;
• la stampante sia raggiungibile all’indirizzo printer.isafom.cnr.it .

⚠️ L’Account ID deve essere composto solo da numeri e può contenere
at most 8 figures.

1️⃣ Download driver

• Downloading Drivers
  
  Kx85_UPD_8.5.2405_en_RC2_WHQL
  
  or
  
  from the Kyocera website
  
• Save the .zip file and extract all files
• Pull out completely the contents in a local folder

  Example: Desktop\Kyocera_Driver

• ⚠️ Do not start setup.exe: the driver must be loaded manually

2️⃣ Aggiunta stampante di rete Windows 11

1. Open Settings
2. Select Bluetooth and devices
3. Click on Printers and scanners
4. At the top click Add device
5. Wait a few seconds
6. When the entry appears
   “La stampante desiderata non è nell’elenco”,
   click on Add manually

3️⃣ Creazione porta TCP/IP

7. Select
   Add a printer or scanner using a TCP/IP address or host name
8. Click Next
9. Set:
   • Type of device: TCP/IP device
   • Host name or IP address:
     • printer.isafom.cnr.it
10. Deactivate the tick:

    ❌ Query the printer and automatically select the driver

11. Click Next

We recommend using printer.isafom.cnr.it. Usare l’indirizzo IP solo se
the host name is not resolved correctly.

4️⃣ Impostazioni porta

12. At the screen Port Settings:
    • TypeCustomised
    • Click Impostazioni…
13. Verify:
    • ProtocolRAW
    • Door number: 9100
    • ✅ SNMP status activated
    • Community name: isafom
14. Confirm with OK
15. Click Next

5️⃣ Installazione driver Kyocera

16. When asked for the driver, click Disco driver…
17. Select the folder where the drivers were extracted
18. Open the file .inf, for example OEMSETUP.INF
19. Select Kyocera TASKalfa 3554ci KX
20. Click Next

6️⃣ Finalizzazione installazione

21. Printer nameleave the one proposed
22. Do not share this printer
23. Optional: set as default printer
24. DO NOT print the test page

    La prova di stampa va eseguita solo dopo aver configurato l’Account ID.

25. Click End

✅ La stampante ora è installata.

7️⃣ Verifica opzioni periferica

Dopo l’installazione del driver, è consigliabile verificare che le opzioni della stampante
are correctly recognised by the driver.

1. Open Settings
2. Bluetooth and devices → Printers and scanners
3. Select Kyocera TASKalfa 3554ci KX
4. Click on Proprietà stampante
5. Open the tab Device Settings

   In alcune versioni può chiamarsi “Impostazioni dispositivo” o “Device Settings”.

6. Click on Configura automaticamente…
7. Check that drawers, memory and accessories are detected correctly
8. Click Apply
9. Click OK

⚠️ Se la configurazione automatica non rileva correttamente gli accessori,
check that the printer is switched on, connected to the network and accessible from the PC.

8️⃣ Impostazione obbligatoria: Account ID, Job Accounting e Stampa privata

⚠️ Dopo l’installazione della stampante, è necessario configurare
l'Account ID in the Kyocera driver.

Questa impostazione è obbligatoria se sulla stampante è attivo il
Job Accounting.

Se l’Account ID non viene inserito correttamente nel driver, la stampa potrebbe
non partire oppure la stampante potrebbe mostrare l’errore
“ID account non corretto”.

This configuration must be done once only for each PC and includes
two steps:

• configurazione dell’Account ID in the driver's administrator settings;
• configurazione dell’ID nelle Printing Preferences, in the section Work.

A. Aprire le proprietà della stampante

1. Open Settings
2. Bluetooth and devices → Printers and scanners
3. Select Kyocera TASKalfa 3554ci KX
4. Click on Proprietà stampante

   ⚠️ NON “Preferenze di stampa”

B. Access the driver's administrator settings

5. Open the tab Device Settings

   In alcune versioni può chiamarsi “Impostazioni dispositivo” o “Device Settings”.

6. Click on Amministratore…

   In alcune versioni può chiamarsi “Administrator…”.

7. Open the section Job Accounting

C. Attivare Job Accounting e inserire l’Account ID

8. Activate the voice:
   • ✅ Job Accounting
9. Select Use specific account ID, if any
10. Inserire l’Account ID fornito dall’amministratore
11. Confirm with OK
12. Click Apply
13. Click OK

✅ Da questo momento il driver invierà i lavori di stampa utilizzando
l'Account ID configured.

D. Configurare l’ID anche nelle Preferenze di stampa

Dopo aver configurato l’Account ID nelle impostazioni amministratore del driver,
è necessario impostare lo stesso ID anche nelle Printing Preferences.

14. Open Settings
15. Bluetooth and devices → Printers and scanners
16. Select Kyocera TASKalfa 3554ci KX
17. Click on Proprietà stampante
18. Open the tab General
19. Click on Preferenze…
20. Open the tab Work
21. In the section Work archiving (e-MPS), set:
    • Type: Private press
    • Password: inserire l’ID comunicato dall’amministratore
22. In the section Job Accounting, click on
    Impostazioni…
23. Select Use specific ID
24. Inserire l’ID comunicato dall’amministratore, if required
25. Click OK
26. Click Apply
27. Click OK

✅ Da questo momento le stampe verranno inviate come
private prints and can be released from the printer panel
by entering the configured password.

⚠️ L’ID inserito nel campo Password of the section
Private press is used to unlock the job directly from the printer.

⚠️ Questa impostazione does not replace Job Accounting:
Job Accounting is used for print accounting, whereas private print
serves to hold the work until unlocked by password.

⚠️ I lavori inviati come private press do not remain stored
permanently: they are removed after printing. They can also be removed
if the printer is switched off, restarted or if the job retention period expires.

9️⃣ Verifica configurazione Account ID e Stampa privata

Prima di procedere con le altre impostazioni, è consigliabile verificare che
l’Account ID sia stato inserito correttamente nel driver.

1. Open any document
2. Send a test print
3. Check that the print is accepted by the printer
4. Se la stampa è stata impostata come private press,
   recuperare il lavoro dal pannello della stampante inserendo l’ID configurato come password

Se compare l’errore “ID account non corretto”, check that:

• l'Account ID has been correctly inserted in the PC driver;
• the Job Accounting is active on the printer;
• l'Account ID is also present and enabled on the printer side;
• at Printing Preferences is selected Use specific ID.

If the printout is not released as a private printout, check that:

• at Work archiving (e-MPS) is selected Private press;
• in the field Password sia stato inserito l’ID corretto;
• work is present in the Job Box of the printer.

🔟 Recupero della stampa privata dalla stampante

Se è stata configurata la Private press, the document is not printed
immediately, but remains pending on the printer.

1. From the printer panel, open Job Box
2. Select the document to be printed
3. Press Print
4. Insert the password configured in the driver
5. Confirm with OK
6. Specify the number of copies, if required
7. Press Start printing

✅ Il documento verrà stampato solo dopo l’inserimento della password corretta.

11️⃣ Impostazione consigliata: nome utente visualizzato sulla stampante

Per rendere riconoscibili i lavori di stampa inviati alla stampante, è consigliabile
set in the Kyocera driver the nome dell’utente using the PC.

This setting allows the name of the person to be displayed on the printer
who sent the printout, instead of just the name of the PC.

This should be done once only for each PC.

A. Aprire le proprietà della stampante

1. Open Settings
2. Bluetooth and devices → Printers and scanners
3. Select Kyocera TASKalfa 3554ci KX
4. Click on Proprietà stampante

B. Open User Settings

5. Open the tab Device Settings
6. Click on Utente…

C. Enter your user name

7. In the field User name inserire il nome e cognome dell’utilizzatore del PC
8. In the field Department, if useful, enter the department or office to which it belongs
9. Click OK
10. Click Apply
11. Click OK

✅ Da questo momento, i lavori di stampa inviati dal PC saranno più facilmente
recognisable on the printer.

⚠️ Questa impostazione non sostituisce l’Account IDonly serves to
identificare meglio l’utente che invia la stampa.

12️⃣ Impostazione obbligatoria: stampa in bianco e nero da driver

⚠️ If not set by the driver, the prints start
colour by default, even when not necessary.

This should be done once only for each PC.

A. Set Black and White as default

1. Open Settings
2. Bluetooth and devices → Printers and scanners
3. Select Kyocera TASKalfa 3554ci KX
4. Click Printing Preferences

   ⚠️ NON “Proprietà stampante”

B. Colour settings

5. Open the tab Base

   In alcune versioni può chiamarsi “Qualità” o “Impostazioni di base”.

6. Under Colour select:
   • ✅ Black and white
7. Verify that Automatic colour o Colour
   are NOT selected

C. Confirmation

8. Click OK
9. Close all windows

✅ Da questo momento all prints will start in black and white,
salvo modifica manuale da parte dell’utente.

⚠️ Su PC condivisi da più utenti Windows, potrebbe essere necessario ripetere
the settings of Printing Preferences for each user.

Su PC condivisi, l’amministratore può configurare le impostazioni da
Proprietà stampante → Advanced →
Default print settings, così da applicarle come default generale.

13️⃣ Problemi comuni

🛠️ Nota per l’amministratore della stampante

⚠️ Ricordarsi di verificare che l’Account ID sia configurato anche lato stampante,
not only in PC drivers.

In particular, access the administration panel of the
TASKalfa 3554ci Command Centre and check that:

• the Job Accounting is active;
• l'Account ID used by users is present and enabled;
• there are no restrictions or limitations blocking print jobs;
• the function of Private press is usable correctly;
• the printer's memory/disk has sufficient space for private jobs.

Otherwise, even with the driver configured correctly,
la stampante potrebbe mostrare l’errore
“ID account non corretto” or not accepting private jobs correctly.
