ISAFOM institutional e-mail

The ISAFOM mailbox can be accessed via the CNR institutes’ WebMail service.

WebMail ISAFOM:

https://webmail-istituti.cnr.it/

To access the WebMail, use as username your complete e-mail address, in the format:

nome.cognome@isafom.cnr.it

The password is either the one originally assigned or the one subsequently changed by the user.

Password Change and Mail Forwarding

To change your ISAFOM account password or to set up automatic forwarding of emails to your CNR account, please use the following service:

Once in the service, select your domain of belonging.

The forwarding of ISAFOM mail to the CNR mailbox is highly recommended, so that you can manage your emails from a single account, namely your CNR account.

Over time, the Institute will gradually phase out the use of ISAFOM email accounts, as CNR email accounts are now assigned to all staff. For this reason, we recommend using the CNR email account as your primary contact and setting up forwarding from your ISAFOM account to your CNR account.

Mail client mailbox configuration

If you wish to set up your ISAFOM email account in an email programme, such as Outlook, Thunderbird, Mail or other clients, you can use the settings below.

Access credentials

Username: full e-mail address
Password: password set or changed by the user

Mail server

SMTP server:
smtp-institutes.cnr.it

Ports to be used:

• 587 with TLS protocol
• 465 with SSL protocol

Sending email requires authentication using a username and password.

Server for receiving mail

POP/IMAP server:
smtp-institutes.cnr.it

Ports to be used:

• 993 with IMAPS protocol
• 995 with POPS protocol
