Description of activity: Analysis, validation and integration of soil and hydrological information into the ISAFOM soil database to support soil process modelling
water and the valuation of ecosystem services. The main objective will be to operationalise the database to provide input data for modelling soil-water system processes oriented towards the assessment and quantification of ecosystem services. Screening activities of all soil and hydrological data currently available to ISAFOM and making development of a relational geo-database capable of providing geo-localised data on the environmental characteristics and chemical, physical and hydrological properties of soil profiles in specific spatial contexts. Multivariate statistical analyses of data whose aim will be to identify significant relationships between soil and hydrological variables, identify patterns space and support the parameterisation and validation of soil-water system models.

Skills: Skills in analytical and environmental chemistry, laboratory techniques and data processing. Skills in the use of major computer tools and knowledge of laboratory quality control methodologies. Ability to critically analyse results, problem solving and teamwork. Good work organisation and autonomy in carrying out assigned activities. Use of software associated with mass spectrometers. Database search and use programmes for bibliography management
