Responsible for the "Laboratory of Physics and Hydrology of Soils and Porous Media'.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:

  • The technical and scientific skills acquired during the years of study and training relate to soil science (planning and description of soil profiles, sampling activities), hydrology and soil physics (sampling activities and field and laboratory measurements of hydrological parameters of soils, characterisation of solute transport parameters in soils, use of 1-D and 2-D mathematical models for the simulation of water and solute motion in the soil-plant-atmosphere system), advanced technologies for field and laboratory measurements of the physical-hydrological characteristics of soils.
  • The research and analysis activities carried out, both in the laboratory and in the field, were aimed at studying the physical and hydrological characteristics of soils in relation to both environmental issues (transport of nitrates in soils and transport of general pollutants links between soil types and the triggers and evolution of landslide phenomena), methodological (comparisons between field and laboratory experimental data; methodologies for spatialising point data, development of methods for laser granulometric analysis of soils), and technical (development of semi-automatic systems for field measurements).

STUDIES AND TRAINING:

  • He graduated in Geological Sciences with a grade of 110/110 cum laude on 24 October 1994 at the University of Naples 'Federico II' with a thesis in Applied Geology entitled 'Landslides and Landslides in the Lower Biferno River Valley'.
