Microscopy Laboratory (L0.04)

The following activities are mainly carried out here: optical microscopy investigations for the characterisation of plant tissues and natural and artificial porous materials; digital acquisition of the relevant microscopic fields for subsequent image analysis.
Instrumentation:
- No. 1 Photomacroscope with transmitted light.
- No. 1 Polarising photomacroscope with transmitted light.
- No. 1 Incident light illuminator for fibre-optic photomacroscopes.
- No. 1 Incident light optical microscope.
- No. 1 Multi-objective trinocular polarising microscope (Jenapol) with transmitted and incident light.
- No. 1 Inverted microscope
- No. 1 Stereo-microscope with illuminator
- No. 2 Variable length support arms for Stereo-Microscope or Photomacroscope
- No. 2 optical tables, one medium-sized and the other large
- No. 1 Passive anti-vibration table
- No. 1 LAMAS (Large Area Micrograph Automated System) developed at CNR-ISAFOM, with incident and transmitted light, consisting of a motorised table, Prior control unit and hardware interface for acquisition automation with digital cameras.

- No. 2 Nikon SLR digital cameras (D200 and D300s).
- No. 1 Variable-height bench stand for photographic acquisitions.
- No. 3 UV lamps with articulated arms for a stand.
