Education:

• Degree in Agricultural Science and Technology with a focus on Environmental Ecology from the University of Naples Federico II. Title of thesis: "Research on resistance to Phytophthora infestans in Solanum tuberosum and in wild Solanum accessions".
• PhD in Enhancement and Management of Agroforestry Resources, specialisation: Applied Pedology, awarded by the University of Naples Federico II. Thesis title: 'New approaches to Land Evaluation: a case study in the Lodi area'.

Main research interests:

• Land Evaluation with application of physically based models to integrate classical methods with modern approaches.
• Multiscale (field to territory) spatial surveys with the application of data spatialisation techniques and the use of physically based simulation models to estimate soil water balances and the growth of certain crops.
• Development of web-based, agricultural-environmental oriented Decision Support Systems.

Laboratory/field activities:

• Chemical analysis of soil samples using ICP-AES (Inductively Coupled Plasma- Atomic Emission Spectrometry);
• Pedological sampling and soil-hydrological monitoring activities using TDR probes, tensiometers, infiltrometers, penetrometers.
