Luisa Massaccesi graduated with a degree in Defence of Agri-Food and Environmental Resources with a mark of 110/110 cum laude from the University of Perugia and in 2009 she obtained a PhD in Productivity and Environmental Sustainability.
His research activity has focused on the study of soil-plant interactions in natural and cultivated soils in different soil-climate environments, soil organic carbon sequestration, organic matter fractionation, soil microbial community structure, biogeochemical nutrient cycling in the rhizosphere of herbaceous and woody plants.
The research activity also focused on the evaluation of the effects of biochar produced from the recovery of waste wood materials and its application as a soil conditioner for fertility recovery actions. In 2017, he was awarded the National Scientific Qualification for the position of Second-Band University Professor in the Competitive Sector 07/E1 - Agricultural Chemistry, Agricultural Genetics and PEDOLOGY. He has an H factor of 19 and has authored 41 publications in international peer reviewed journals (ISI).
He worked at the University of Perugia (2010-2018), at the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell'Umbria e delle Marche (2019-2021) and finally at the Università degli Studi della Tuscia (2021-2023) before starting his current permanent position as a Researcher at the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) (Istituto per i Sistemi Agrari e Ambientali nel Mediterraneo ISAFOM, Perugia, Italy)
