Dr Piero Ciccioli joined the CNR as a researcher in 2012, after havinge achieved the Master's Degree in Geology in 2005 and PhD in Earth Sciences and Geotechnology in 2009, both at the University of Perugia
Through its reception activitiesrca at the CNR, has developed a solid expertise in the field of:
- Formulation and synthesis of new materialswings sustainable inorganic and organic hybrids–inorganics for industrial applications (e.g. low-emission cements of carbon obtained using materials first seconds, stickers formaldehyde-free) as well as the development of new processes at low consumption energetic for the production of new binders from use in the sector construction;
- Svile of soil improvers, technosols and substrates 'soilless' innovative and eco–compatible based on materials stone natural for I 'water harvesting', the 'urban farming', the improvement of the water efficiency of arid and/or drought-stressed soils and, more generallyale, for l'optimising the use of natural resources for the sustainable management of agricultural ecosystems and forestry;
- GIS modelling of volatile organic compound emissions (VOC)both anthropogenic and biogenic (BVOC), and detection methodsaction to measure concentrations of such compounds and other airborne substances (in particular contaminants such as formaldehyde and NO2) in environments indoor e outdoor.
On these issues, Dr. Ciccioli has provided a decisive contribution to the conception, development and realisation of more than ten research projects, all successfully financed by European programmes and national. These projects include:
- the National Bandier Projecta CNR "Factory of the Future MECAGEOPOLY – Mechano–chemistry: an innovative process in the industrial production of poly– sialate and poly–silanoxosialate geopolymeric binders used in building construction",
- the project BRIC– INAIL "FREEFORES: Development of new adhesives at organic and inorganic bases as substitutes for the formaldehyde-containing resins in wood products used in construction and furniture"
- the project FIRST "SUSMEDHOUSE: Efficient, Eco–Friendly, Sustainable Mediterranean Greenhouse Integrated with Artificial Intelligence, Hi–Tech Automation and Control System".
In addition, Dr. Ciccioli is active in teaching, inhigher education and science dissemination on issues of environmental sustainability, sustainable development and Green & Circular Economy. In this context, he was Project Coordinator Europeans Erasmus+ KA02 "EN–VET – Environmental Sustainability in the VET System: a Powerful Tool for the Future" e "CHERISH – Cultural and Natural Heritage: a Sustainable Tourism VET Integrated Approach", both recognised by the Authority Erasmus+ as "Good Practices' at European level.
È was/is currently an adjunct professor of "Green and Circular Economy and of "Changes Global e Resilience Human", both held for the Course by Lauera at "Studies International for Sustainability and Social Security" of the University for Foreigners of Perugia.
