BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES AND POSITIONS HELD
Giuseppe Tagarelli was born on February 18th, 1968 in Cosenza, Italy.
He graduated in Natural Sciences from the University of Calabria (Italy) in 1993.
In 1997 he received a Master Degree in 'Man and Environment' from the University of Tor Vergata (Rome, Italy). In 2002 he received a Master Degree in "Anthropology in Mediterranean area" from the University of Florence (Italy).
In 2007 he received a Ph.D. in Anthropological Sciences from the University of Florence (Italy).
From 2006 to 2012, he was Adjunct Professor of Anthropology, Biology of Human Populations, and Demo-Ethno-Anthropological Sciences at University of Messina, (Italy). From 2006 to 2008, he taught Anthropology at University of Mater Boni Consilii of Tirana (Albania).
Since June 2011, he has been a researcher at the National Research Council, at Institute of Neurological Sciences, CNR-ISN, (2011-2017) and at Institute for Agricultural and Forest Systems in the Mediterranean, CNR-ISAFoM, (2017 to date).
He has been a member of Governing Council of Pollino National Park. He has been consultant for the Albanian Caritas, International Institute for the Study of Man (Florence, Italy) and for many private organisations.

Ethnopharmacology, Folk medicine, Ethnobotany, Ethnomedicine, Plant-based remedies, Human Ecology, Landscape, Land use change, Cultural Heritage, Biodemography

RESEARCH PROJECTS
He is currently Principal Investigator of the project 'The landscape of reclamation'. Moreover, he has collaborated on more than 30 national and international research projects.

PUBLICATIONS
More than 100 scientific papers published on national and international academic journals and as contributions to national and international conference proceedings.

PEER-REVIEWING
He has been a peer-reviewer for more than 20 different journals.
