The following activities mainly take place here: preparation of plant materials in the study and culture media. It houses magnetic heating plates, a pH meter, various glassware, a reagent cabinet and various reagents for preparing solutions and culture media, an analytical balance, an incubator and microwave, a PCR thermocycler, a microscope, a cytophotometer, a stereomicroscope, a system for acquiring high-resolution images from plant tissues (especially leaves and fruits), for making pomological and morphological description sheets by means of image analysis. An air-conditioned room houses a growth chamber equipped with a rack with lights for the development of plants in micropropagation.
