She graduated with honours in Geological Sciences from the University of Calabria in 2005, and received her PhD in Earth and Life Sciences from the University of Sannio (BN) in 2009. Since 2019, she has been a researcher at the CNR-ISAFOM Rende (CS) site.

He is responsible for national and international research projects, Expert Panel Member for international calls in the fields of “Earth Sciences” and “Physical Sciences and Engineering”.

He is a member of the Teaching Board of the Doctorate in Geology, Engineering and Science of Sustainable Earth and Energy Transition - GESET at the University of Calabria and a member of the Global Geochemical Baselines Commission of the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS).

He has served as Chairperson at numerous international scientific conferences.

He carries out intensive editorial and peer-reviewing activities as a member of editorial boards and reviewer for more than 50 international scientific journals.

He teaches at a Higher Technical Institute (ITS).

He actively collaborates with Italian and foreign universities and research institutes, including the Geological Survey of Finland (Espoo), the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) (Jokioinen), the Science Pomeranian University (Słupsk, Poland), the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), the National Institute of R&D for Biological Sciences Bucharest (Romania), the Institutul Național de Cercetare Dezvoltare pentru Ecologie Industrială (Romania), Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior De Investigaciones Cientificas (Spain), Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal (Portugal), Institutul National de Cercetare-Dezvoltare pentru Protectia Mediului Bucuresti INCDPM (Romania), Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden), Center for Ecological-Noosphere Studies National Academy of Sciences of The Republic of Armenia CENS (Armenia).

His scientific interests focus on:

• Study of natural and anthropogenic background levels of potentially toxic elements and radionuclides and assessment of pollution phenomena in urban, peri-urban, forest and agricultural soils, waters and sediments.
• Study of interactions between environmental contamination and human health.
• Statistical processing and geostatistical and multivariate data analysis.
• Development of geochemical risk analysis methods on a regional scale.
• Application of compositional and multifractal data analysis methods.
• Development of GIS systems for digital mapping in the field of Earth Sciences and Geochemistry.
• Climatological and meteorological analysis and drought risk study.
• Analysis of land use change and urban sprawl.
• New proximal and remote sensing technologies for precision agriculture
