• Biology and Ecology of Marine and Freshwater Microalgae;
• Aquaculture of marine plant species for the extraction of bioactive and functional compounds for the production of foodstuffs for human consumption and farm animals and of bio-energy interest;
• Aquaculture of marine plant species of bio-energy interest;
• Study and characterisation of the phenomena of bio-deterioration of stone artefacts by plant organisms.

• Sampling of mobile and hard bottom benthos;
• Sampling of marine organisms in the water column;
