Daniela Dalmonech is a forest ecology and ecosystem modelling researcher with a background in environmental engineering and forest science. After a PhD at the University of Tuscia (Viterbo, Italy) and a Marie Curie ITN postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry (Jena, Germany), she began collaborating with the CNR-ISAFOM Forest Modeling Lab in 2020. She plays a key role in developing and analysing the 3D-CMCC-FEM model to study forest's carbon and nitrogen cycles and forest responses to climate change. Today, she serves as a research technologist at CNR-ISAFOM and contributes to the HORIZON Europe Projects. ForestNavigator and OptFor-EU, and collaborates with the National Biodiversity Future Centre, contributing expertise on forest dynamics and ecosystem modelling. Active in the scientific community, she has served as Guest Editor for Forests and is currently an editor for Regional Environmental Change, topical collection “Climate impacts on European forests and their mitigation potentials and ecosystem service provisioning”. Her work advances understanding of carbon cycle and forest dynamics and their responses to environmental change.
