Eastern Sicily Experimental Camp

The Campo di Siracusa Cassibile (40 m a.s.l.) has a surface area of 2.5 hectares and is equipped with structures, equipment and apparatus suitable for supporting all field tests and allowing the immediate acquisition of certain data of fundamental interest, including the most important agro-meteorological parameters.

The field activity is aimed at testing production processes, agronomic techniques and cultivation systems related to the main crops typical of the Mediterranean basin. In addition, in vivo collections of olive, pomegranate, artichoke, thistle and Jatropha curcas of the ISAFOM CNR are kept at the field.
