Characterisation of the main physical and bio-chemical properties of soil in support of research projects.

Physical and hydraulic properties of the soil: texture, bulk density, characteristic points of the water retention curve, hydraulic conductivity.

Soil chemical properties: Total organic carbon concentration, Total nitrogen concentration, Electrical conductivity, Cation exchange capacity, Spectroradiometric measurements, Soil enzyme activity

MAIN INSTRUMENTATION

- UV/VIS- 2600 spectrophotometer complete with computer and printer; Spectroradiometer; TOC- LCSN Carbon Analyser in solid and liquid samples (with TNM Module - L for the determination of Total Nitrogen in liquid samples); Stackman Tank

- Miscellaneous laboratory equipment: Hood, Centrifuge, Stoves, Magnetic stirrers, Precision scales
