{"id":2911,"date":"2026-05-15T10:44:24","date_gmt":"2026-05-15T08:44:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/isafom.cnr.it\/?p=2911"},"modified":"2026-05-21T10:45:00","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T08:45:00","slug":"stampante-taskalfa-3554ci-kx-portici","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/isafom.cnr.it\/en\/stampante-taskalfa-3554ci-kx-portici\/","title":{"rendered":"TASKalfa 3554ci KX Printer - Portici"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Kyocera TASKalfa 3554ci KX printer installation on Windows 11<\/h1>\n<p>\nThis guide explains how to install and configure the network printer<br \/>\n<strong>Kyocera TASKalfa 3554ci KX<\/strong> on a PC with <strong>Windows 11<\/strong>.\n<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Before we begin<\/h2>\n<p>Before proceeding with installation, check that<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the PC is connected to the Institute's network;<\/li>\n<li>you have administrator permissions on your PC;<\/li>\n<li>the operating system is <strong>Windows 11<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>l'<strong>Account ID<\/strong> has been communicated by the administrator;<\/li>\n<li>the printer can be reached at <code>printer.isafom.cnr.it<\/code>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"border-left: 4px solid #f0ad4e; padding: 10px; background-color: #fff8e5; margin: 15px 0;\">\n  <strong>Attention:<\/strong> l'<strong>Account ID<\/strong> must only consist of numbers and may contain a maximum of <strong>8 figures<\/strong>.\n<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>1\ufe0f\u20e3 Downloading Drivers<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>\n    Download the drivers:<br \/>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/intranet.isafom.cnr.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Kx85_UPD_8.5.2405_en_RC2_WHQL.zip\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><br \/>\n      Kx85_UPD_8.5.2405_en_RC2_WHQL<br \/>\n    <\/a><br \/>\n    <em>or<\/em><br \/>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kyoceradocumentsolutions.com\/support_product\/model_it.html?r=55&amp;s=17&amp;m=87&amp;p=18\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><br \/>\n      from the Kyocera website<br \/>\n    <\/a>.\n  <\/li>\n<li>Save the file <code>.zip<\/code> on the PC.<\/li>\n<li>Completely extract all contents into a local folder.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Example of a folder:<\/p>\n<pre><code>Desktop\\Kyocera_Driver<\/code><\/pre>\n<div style=\"border-left: 4px solid #d9534f; padding: 10px; background-color: #fdecea; margin: 15px 0;\">\n  <strong>Important:<\/strong> do not start <code>setup.exe<\/code>. The driver must be loaded manually when adding the printer.\n<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>2\ufe0f\u20e3 Adding the network printer<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Bluetooth and devices<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Printers and scanners<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>At the top, click on <strong>Add device<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Wait a few seconds.<\/li>\n<li>When the entry appears <strong>\u201cThe desired printer is not in the list\u201d.\u201d<\/strong>, click on <strong>Add manually<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>3\ufe0f\u20e3 TCP\/IP port creation<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Select <strong>Add a printer or scanner using a TCP\/IP address or host name<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>\n    Set the following values:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Type of device<\/strong>: <code>TCP\/IP device<\/code><\/li>\n<li><strong>Host name or IP address<\/strong>: <code>printer.isafom.cnr.it<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n    Deactivate the tick:<br \/>\n    <br \/>\n    \u274c <em>Query the printer and automatically select the driver<\/em>\n  <\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div style=\"border-left: 4px solid #5bc0de; padding: 10px; background-color: #eef9fc; margin: 15px 0;\">\n  We recommend using <code>printer.isafom.cnr.it<\/code>.<br \/>\n  Use IP address <code>140.164.75.11<\/code> only if the host name is not resolved correctly.\n<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>4\ufe0f\u20e3 Port Configuration<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>\n    At the screen <strong>Type of device<\/strong>, select:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Customised<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>click on <strong>Settings...<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n    Check that the values are set as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Door name<\/strong>: <code>printer.isafom.cnr.it<\/code><\/li>\n<li><strong>Printer name or IP address<\/strong>: <code>printer.isafom.cnr.it<\/code><\/li>\n<li><strong>Protocol<\/strong>RAW<\/li>\n<li><strong>Door number<\/strong>: <code>9100<\/code><\/li>\n<li>\u2705 <strong>SNMP status activated<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Community name<\/strong>: <code>isafom<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Confirm with <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>5\ufe0f\u20e3 Installing the Kyocera driver<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>When asked for the driver, click on <strong>Driver disk...<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>\n    Select the folder where the drivers were extracted.\n  <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Indicative route:<\/p>\n<pre><code>...\\Kx85_UPD_8.5.2405_en_RC2_WHQL\\64bit<\/code><\/pre>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Open the file <code>OEMSETUP.INF<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Kyocera TASKalfa 3554ci KX<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>6\ufe0f\u20e3 Finishing the installation<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Under <strong>Printer name<\/strong>, leave the one proposed.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Do not share this printer<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Optional: set printer as default.<\/li>\n<li>\n    Do not print the test page yet.\n  <\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>End<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div style=\"border-left: 4px solid #d9534f; padding: 10px; background-color: #fdecea; margin: 15px 0;\">\n  <strong>Important:<\/strong> the test page should only be printed after configuring the\u2019<strong>Account ID<\/strong>.\n<\/div>\n<p>\u2705 The printer is now installed.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>7\ufe0f\u20e3 Final configuration of the Kyocera driver<\/h2>\n<p>\nAfter installation, it is necessary to configure:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Account ID<\/strong> e <strong>Job Accounting<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>username<\/strong> displayed on the printer;<\/li>\n<li><strong>private press<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>black and white printing<\/strong> as the default setting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"border-left: 4px solid #f0ad4e; padding: 10px; background-color: #fff8e5; margin: 15px 0;\">\n  This configuration is performed by accessing the printer properties only once, avoiding opening and closing the same windows several times.\n<\/div>\n<h3>A. Open printer properties<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Going to <strong>Bluetooth and devices<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Printers and scanners<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Kyocera TASKalfa 3554ci KX<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Printer properties<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>B. Configure Account ID and Job Accounting<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the tab <strong>Device Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Administrator...<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open the section <strong>Job Accounting<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Activate the \u2705 entry <strong>Job Accounting<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Use specific account ID<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Insert the\u2019<strong>Account ID<\/strong> provided by the administrator.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm with <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>C. Configure the user name<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Staying in the <strong>Device Settings<\/strong>, click on <strong>User...<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the field <strong>User name<\/strong>, enter the first and last name of the PC user.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm with <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>D. Configure Private Printing and Job Accounting in Printing Preferences<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Staying in the window <strong>Printer properties<\/strong>, open the tab <strong>General<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Preferences...<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open the tab <strong>Work<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>\n    In the section <strong>Work archiving<\/strong> or <strong>e-MPS<\/strong>, set:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Type<\/strong>: <strong>Private press<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>uncheck <strong>Password request<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>at <strong>Specify password<\/strong>, enter the ID communicated by the administrator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>In the section <strong>Job Accounting<\/strong>, click on <strong>Settings...<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Use specific ID<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the ID communicated by the administrator, if required.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm with <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>E. Set black-and-white printing as default<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Staying in the window <strong>Printing Preferences<\/strong>, open the tab <strong>Base<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>\n    Under <strong>Colour<\/strong>, select:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2705 <strong>Black and white<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Verify that <strong>Car colour<\/strong> o <strong>Colour<\/strong> are not selected.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Apply<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>OK<\/strong> to close the <strong>Printing Preferences<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>F. Confirm printer settings<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Back to the window <strong>Printer properties<\/strong>, click on <strong>Apply<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u2705 Configuration of the Kyocera driver is complete.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>8\ufe0f\u20e3 Final verification<\/h2>\n<p>\nAt this point, a print test can be performed.\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open a test document.<\/li>\n<li>Select printer <strong>Kyocera TASKalfa 3554ci KX<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Send the printout.<\/li>\n<li>Go to the printer.<\/li>\n<li>If required, select your private print job.<\/li>\n<li>Check that the print is correctly produced in black and white.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div style=\"border-left: 4px solid #5cb85c;
