Last updated: 11\/05\/2026<\/strong><\/p>\n The CNR\u2019s Institute for Mediterranean Agricultural and Forestry Systems uses social media to communicate with members of the public, organisations, institutions, the scientific community and other stakeholders interested in its institutional, research, outreach and public communication activities.<\/p>\n The Institute\u2019s official social media channels are:<\/p>\n Facebook: https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/CNR.ISAFOM<\/a> This document sets out the guidelines for the use of the Institute\u2019s social media channels, in accordance with the CNR Regulations, the applicable administrative provisions and current legislation on the protection of personal data.<\/p>\n The Institute\u2019s social media channels are used to:<\/p>\n Published content may include text, photographs, images, infographics, videos, multimedia materials and links to external resources.<\/p>\n Unless otherwise stated, content published by the Institute is licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0<\/strong> and may be reproduced in accordance with the conditions of the licence, indicating the source and original channel of publication.<\/p>\n Comments, posts and content published by users reflect the views of the individuals concerned and not those of the Institute. The Institute cannot be held liable for content published by third parties on its social media channels, subject to the moderation measures described in this policy.<\/p>\n The Institute\u2019s social media channels are used for information, outreach and institutional communication purposes.<\/p>\n They do not constitute an official channel for:<\/p>\n For these purposes, only the official channels listed on the Institute\u2019s and\/or the CNR\u2019s website must be used.<\/p>\n Users are requested not to publish their own or third parties' personal data, documents, personal contact details, confidential information or data not relevant to the discussion in comments, posts or private messages.<\/p>\n In particular, users must not transmit via social networks:<\/p>\n Any requests received via social networks that require formal handling will be directed to the appropriate institutional channels.<\/p>\n The Institute asks all users to behave in a polite, appropriate and respectful manner.<\/p>\n On the Institute\u2019s social media channels, you are welcome to comment and express your views, provided you adhere to the rules of fairness, relevance, moderation in expression, and respect for individuals and institutions.<\/p>\n Comments, posts or other content that contravene this policy, the platforms\u2019 terms of use or applicable legislation are subject to moderation \u2013 including pre-moderation where permitted by the platform \u2013 and may be removed.<\/p>\n They are not tolerated:<\/p>\n The Institute reserves the right to remove any content deemed to be in breach of this policy or applicable legislation.<\/p>\n In the event of repeated or particularly serious breaches, the Institute may use the tools made available by the platforms, including content blocking, restriction of access, user suspension and reporting the matter to the platform operators. In the most serious cases, the matter may be reported to the relevant authorities.<\/p>\n The Institute\u2019s social media channels are moderated by staff authorised to manage its institutional communications.<\/p>\n Moderation is carried out in accordance with the Institute\u2019s internal organisation, normally during working hours.<\/p>\n Moderation is carried out in accordance with the principles of relevance, proportionality, data minimisation and the protection of data subjects\u2019 rights.<\/p>\n Content that includes excessive, irrelevant personal data, special categories of personal data, personal data relating to minors, data relating to criminal convictions or offences, or information likely to jeopardise the security of persons, property or systems, may be removed.<\/p>\n Should any content be removed for reasons of security, to protect the Institute\u2019s rights, to protect third parties or due to possible unlawful content, the Institute may retain a record of it for the time strictly necessary to deal with the report, to protect its rights or to comply with legal obligations.<\/p>\n Private messages sent to the Institute\u2019s social media accounts are processed solely for the purpose of replying to the user, handling general enquiries or directing the data subject to the relevant institutional channels.<\/p>\n Users are requested not to transmit unnecessary personal data, special categories of personal data, personal data relating to minors, administrative, health, tax, judicial or otherwise confidential documents via private messages.<\/p>\n If such data is nevertheless submitted, the Institute may, where possible, delete it and ask the user to use the appropriate official channels.<\/p>\n Private messages are retained on the platforms for the period strictly necessary to deal with the request, subject to the technical capabilities provided by the platforms, unless further retention is required to comply with legal obligations, for security reasons, or to protect the rights of the Institute or third parties.<\/p>\n As part of the management of its social media channels, the Institute may process personal data made available by users through interactions, comments, messages, shares, reactions or other features provided by the platforms.<\/p>\n The processing is carried out in compliance with EU Regulation 2016\/679, Legislative Decree 196\/2003 as amended and the applicable legislation on the protection of personal data.<\/p>\n The data controller is the CNR \u2013 National Research Council<\/strong>, limits of what is made available by users and platforms:<\/p>\n The Institute urges users not to publish or submit any unnecessary personal data, data relating to third parties, special categories of personal data, personal data relating to minors or confidential documentation.<\/p>\n Content posted by users on social media channels remains visible in accordance with the settings, features and terms of use of each individual platform.<\/p>\n The Institute retains any data or records directly only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in this policy, to process the respective privacy policies.<\/p>\n The data may be processed by authorised staff of the Institute and the CNR, as well as by any third parties assisting the Institute with the technical, communications or administrative management of the channels, within the limits of their respective responsibilities and the tasks assigned to them.<\/p>\n Data may also be processed by the operators of social platforms according to their respective privacy policies and terms of service.<\/p>\n In the cases provided for by law, the data may be disclosed to public authorities, judicial authorities The Institute does not fully determine the processing methods carried out independently by the platforms, but processes the data provided by users via their social media accounts for the purposes of institutional communication, managing interactions, moderation and safeguarding its rights.<\/p>\n Platforms may provide the Institute with aggregated statistical data on content trends, page views
