Description of the activity carried out<\/strong>: Genetic studies in patients with inherited diseases of the nervous system in order to understand the molecular basis of neurological diseases. Analysis of mutations, linkage analysis and genotype-phenotype correlation.
\nApplication of advanced molecular biology technologies for the genetic diagnosis of certain hereditary neurological diseases.
\nGenetic analysis combined with functional magnetic resonance imaging studies in healthy subjects in order to define the impact of certain polymorphisms on the neurodevelopmental processes of critical areas such as the orbitofrontal cortex, hippocampus and amygdala.
\nDevelopment of a simple and rapid method for characterising post-translational modifications of histone proteins using mass spectrometry (MS).
\nService activities for the provision of specialist genetics assistance at ISN-CNR in Mangone CS.
\nStudies on natural remedies based on the use of plants from Italian folk medicine for the treatment of certain neurological, dermatological and gynaecological diseases. Comparison with ancient and modern medicine in the light of current pharmacological knowledge.<\/p>\n
